Please note that due to GDPR regulations, if you are collecting medication on behalf of someone else we will need their permission to do so.
Due to current circumstances there is a national shortage of certain medications. This is beyond the control of the practice and will affect all pharmacies. Our dispensers will do their best to find you an alternative if at all possible but please be aware that you may on occasion be asked to take the prescription away to see if other pharmacies have any stock left. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Dispensing and Repeat Prescriptions
Cowfold and Partridge Green Surgeries are dispensing practices. The majority of our patients can collect their medication at the surgery. If you live within a mile of a Chemist the law states you must be a non dispensing patient and you will have to take your prescription to the Chemist or the surgery will send your prescription to a designated Pharmacy. Repeat Prescriptions are issued on a 28 day basis. This enables us to monitor correct medication usage and also helps to prevent wastage. If your doctor agrees to you having repeat prescriptions they can now be requested on-line using the link above, in person or by a note, or the side slip of your prescription. We also have a post box in the entrance to both surgeries where repeat prescriptions may be left.
Remember that there is usually a prescription charge for each item of medication. From April 2023 this will be £9.65 per item. If you have more than 1 item per month it is cheaper to purchase a pre-payment certificate for either 3 months (£31.25) or 12 months (£111.60). Evidence of Pre-payment Certificate or Exemption will be required when collecting your medication. Ask at the dispensary for more information. NHS West Sussex Prescribing Policy letter
