Blood, Urine and X-ray Results
Your doctor will normally advise you how long it takes for test results to arrive back in the practice. Please call after 11:30 a.m. for any results of tests performed by your doctor.

Appointments
Please call at the reception or telephone during office hours only. For ROUTINE appointments or queries about results, please avoid telephoning between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 am. It is usually much easier to telephone the surgery in the afternoon

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

Dispensing and Repeat Prescriptions

green pillsCowfold and Partridge Green Surgeries are dispensing practices.  The majority of our patients can collect their medication at the surgery.  If you live within a mile of a Chemist the law states you must be a non dispensing patient (some Henfield and Southwater Residents) and you will have to take your prescription to the Chemist or the surgery will send your prescription to Lloyds Pharrmacy at Henfield.  Repeat Prescriptions are issued on a 28 day basis.  This enables us to monitor correct medication usage and also helps to prevent wastage. If your doctor agrees to you having repeat prescriptions they can now be requested on-line using the link above, in person, by a note or by telephone.  At both surgeries we have a dedicated answer machine so that you can leave your requests for your repeat prescriptions 24 hours a day.  We also have a post box in the entrance to both surgeries where repeat prescriptions may be left.

Repeat Prescriptions

Routine Repeat Prescriptions or Scripts are the ‘paper’ prescriptions for your medication.  They inform the pharmacist or dispenser which medication should be dispensed to you.  Before a script is issued, each item of medication is carefully checked by a doctor, and then checked again by a pharmacist or dispenser before being dispensed.  This process takes a little while to complete.

Scripts that are to be collected from Cowfold Medical group (Cowfold and Partridge Green Surgeries) without the medication being dispensed will be ready for collection after two full working days from the time of the request.  If your medication is dispensed by Cowfold Medical Group then an additional full working day is required.  This arrangement is summarised on the chart below.

If you are a dispensing patient we need to get your doctor to authorise and sign the prescription, and then your medication has to be ordered. It is then dispensed and double checked by our dispensers.  If you are a non dispensing patient, once the prescription has been signed we have to send it to Lloyds Pharmacy.  They will then need to order and dispense the prescription.  All this means you may need to allow extra time and you should plan to do so for routine prescriptions.  Remember that there is usually a prescription charge of £7.40 for each item of medication.  If you have more than 1 item per month it is cheaper to purchase a pre-payment certificate for either 3 months (£29.10) or 12 months (£104.00).  Ask at the dispensary for more information.
